Although I’ve explored several California destinations throughout the last few years, one of my favorite spots is Big Sur. Located around 300 miles up the coast from Los Angeles, this idyllic, picturesque stretch of land is one of the Golden State’s biggest treasures.

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Luca Renaud, I am a 16 year old aspiring videographer from Montreal, Canada. This summer I went on a family roadtrip along California's Highway 1. I documented our trip through video with my camera, and put together this 4-minute short film.
I jump off the muni at the Embarcadero Metro Station and with a short walk I can get to the area on the Embarcadero I need to be. Once I reach the foot of Market Street, the magnificent 245- foot tall clock tower on top of a waterfront building, marks I have arrived to one of my favorite destinations, the historic San Francisco Ferry Building.
Some days, you just need to fall asleep under the stars, in a tent, smelling like firewood and a little drunk on whiskey. You welcome the escape from that hustling energy of the city, the all-to-well-known biting addiction to social media, and oh the irritability of the sound of cars.
In a city where everyone walks, and there are hills.. lots of hills.. everywhere,... it's no surprise that SFers love taking their workouts outside. We believe that to really get a feel of a new place you're traveling to, you have to run up and down its hills, bike down its roads, and Downward Dog where the locals do.
A few weeks back, I was hitting a... let's call it "mid-life" crisis.. if you will... and I needed out of LA. I have some really amazing friends who live in a great mountain town in Northern California: Mount Shasta.
There are few things I love more than decorating my home for fall. The colors, the fall leaves, the warm rustiness of it all.. I could go on and on. So this month I'm sharing a few of my favorite items from one of my favorite stores in the Bay Area, The Makery.
